CAIRO- An Egyptian opposition figure has launched a campaign against what he called attempts to hand over to the younger son of President Hosni Mubarak.
Ayman Nour, a dissident who trailed second to Mubarark in Egypt's 2005 presidential elections, said at a rally on Friday that there was a new campaign to support an alleged bid by Gamal, the son of Mubarak, for presidency.
Nour, who was released from prison last year, launched his campaign under the motto "Stop Gamal Mubarak. Egypt is bigger than you." Several opposition activists have said they will join the campaign against alleged hereditary succession.
Both Mubarak and Gamal have denied such claims.
