Egypt s national football team has held its position at number 56 in the FIFA global football rankings, published on 20 December.
The Pharaohs climbed two positions in FIFA s ranking last month after beating Tunisia 3-2 in the 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifiers to claim second place in Group J as well as securing a place in the tournament s finals.
Egypt keeps their eighth place among African countries and third among Arab countries, after Tunisia (26) and Morocco (40).
Egypt made it into the world s top 10 when they won three successive African Cup of Nations trophies in 2006, 2008 and 2010.
Belgium continues to top the world rankings while France ranks second and Brazil third.
In other highlights from the December rankings, Guyana made the biggest move after climbing three positions to place 177th in the world rankings, while Barbados suffered its worst drop after losing three positions to place 168th.
