Dr Naguib Gebrael, head of the Egyptian Federation for Human Rights, has sent a letter to the representatives of the three Churches participating in the founding committee for drafting the new Constitution, in which he warned them against accepting replacing “Basics of Sharia” with “Sharia” which some Islamic currents are trying to impose by force to make the constitution supports a religious state.
Gebrael added that such replacement means preventing building churches or even rebuild the demolished ones, killing the apostates, and Copts should pay the tribute and they should be formally called non-Moslems and not citizens.
