April 6 leaves Tahrir sit-in, Abu Ismail supporters stay
The April 6 Youth Movement decided on Tuesday to end the sit-in they have been staging in Tahrir Square for more than 13 days.

The movement said in a statement that it would look for other ways to pressure the government to meet its demands.

The sit-in against the supplement to the Constitutional Declaration, which greatly diminishes the power of the president while strengthening the military council, began two weeks ago. The Muslim Brotherhood, another major participant in the sit-in, announced Monday that they would leave the square.

The movement, which helped launched the January 2011 uprising that ousted Hosni Mubarak, said it will return to the square if the supplementary constitutional declaration is not canceled.

Supporters of popular Salafi preacher Hazem Salah Abu Ismail, who was disqualified from the presidential race, said they will remain in Tahrir until the supplementary declaration is revoked.

El Badil news website quoted Abu Ismail supporter Magdi Bassiouny as saying they will continue the sit-in and criticizing the Muslim Brotherhood for leaving.

On Monday, Abu Ismail accused the ruling military council of deceiving everyone by issuing the supplementary constitutional declaration, describing it as “outrageous.”
