Istiqamah Mosque case adjourned to April 23

The Cairo Criminal Court adjourned Thursday the trial of 14 Muslim Brotherhood leaders on charges of inciting violence and killing nine people near the Istiqamah Mosque, to April 23.The Cairo Criminal Court adjourned Thursday the trial of 14 Muslim Brotherhood leaders on charges of inciting violence and killing nine people near the Istiqamah Mosque, to April 23.

The first hearing in the case was held today at the headquarters of the Institute of the Police Trustees in Torah Prison. The Brotherhood General Guide Mohamed Badie and leaders Essam el-Erian and Mohamed el-Beltagy are among the 14 defendants in the case.
 
During the hearing, Badie and the other defendants denied all charges drawn against, and the prosecution demanded imposing the maximum penalty.
 
The 14 co-defendants are accused killing 9 people and attempted murder of 21 others, inciting violence, terrorism and causing damages at the vicinity of the Istiqamah Mosque following the June 30 events and the ouster of former president Mohamed Morsi.
