Qatar suspends funding Int’l MB after Riyadh deal: Brotherhood Without Violence

Qatar will no longer fund the international organization of the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) after a deal reached between Doha and Gulf States, said Egypt’s Brotherhood Without Violence movement Sunday.Qatar will no longer fund the international organization of the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) after a deal reached between Doha and Gulf States, said Egypt’s Brotherhood Without Violence movement Sunday.

Aid worth $56 million, scheduled to be given to the Brotherhood, has been suspended and the latest installment of such aid has been also halted, the movement added in a statement posted on its Facebook page.

The Qatari Royal Diwan asked the brotherhood leaders to not interfere in Gulf affairs or they will be deported, the statement added.

Saudi Arabia, UAE and Bahrain withdrew their ambassadors from Doha March 5, in protest of its foreign policy, which contradicts an agreement signed by the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of Gulf (GCC) members Nov. 23; this agreement stated that GCC shall not back any group or any individual could threaten the stability and security of the GCC states.

Amid Kuwaiti mediation, GCC ministers held a meeting in Riyadh Thursday to reach an agreement between Qatar and three Gulf States over Doha’s foreign policy and its interference in the domestic affairs of other countries, AFP reported.

However, the statement of the GCC did not mention if the three monarchs would reinstate their ambassadors to Doha, AFP added.
