Shubra Criminal Court postponed Wednesday the trial of Muslim Brotherhood Supreme Guide Mohamed Badie to May 10 in order to hear the defense in the “Qalyub Highway case”, Youm7 reported.Shubra Criminal Court postponed Wednesday the trial of Muslim Brotherhood Supreme Guide Mohamed Badie to May 10 in order to hear the defense in the “Qalyub Highway case”, Youm7 reported.

Badie and 47 other defendants, including Muslim Brotherhood leaders, are charged with blocking the Qalyub Highway and causing the death of three citizens following the July 3, 2013 ouster of former President Mohamed Morsi.
 
The defendants in the case are charged with murder, blocking roads, possessing weapons, spreading chaos and thuggery.
 
Badie is also the defendant in several other cases. One of these is a spying case with 20 other defendants, including Morsi. Additionally, Badie is among 78 people accused of burning a church in Kerdasah after the dispersal of the Rabaa al-Adaweya pro-Muslim Brotherhood sit-in last August, and is also charged with the Wadi al-Natroun prison break alongside Muslim Brotherhood leaders Mohamed el-Beltagy and Saad Katatni. Badie is also charged in the Ithadeya Presidential Palace trial, where he is accused of torturing protesters.
