Assistant Foreign Minister Hatem Seif al-Nasr met with ambassadors of European countries to review Cairo's efforts. The meeting began with a minute of mourning for the 21 Egyptians who were killed by IS in Libya.
Seif al-Nasr said the successful military operations of the Egyptian air force against IS were based on Egypt’s right to self-defense and protection of citizens in accordance with the United Nations Charter.
He called on the European countries and NATO to take the responsibility and eliminate terrorism in Libya and help Egypt’s endeavors, pointing out that Cairo has made it clear from the beginning that the danger of IS is not limited to Iraq and Syria but extends to threaten world peace and security.
