For the first time in history, an Egyptian court accepted a civil marriage of a Christian Egyptian couple.
This was considered a shift in the Personal Status File Coptic Christians who couldn’t apply for civil marriage before.
It’s worth mentioning that Egyptian churches refused to accept civil marriage in the draft of the unified personal status law for Christians.
