Sharif Shobashy, Egyptian writer, said that according to an official inventory conducted in 2011, there are 2869 churches in Egypt while there are more than 108000 mosque.
He added that churches are 2.7 % though Copts represent 10% of the total population.
Shobashy explained that this inventory didn’t include thousands of small prayer places as well.
