Due to potential security concerns, the United States embassy in Cairo and Canada embassy in Cairo issued a security message to its citizens in Egypt warning them to “avoid large gatherings and public spaces” on Sunday.
This came as the fifth anniversary of Maspero massacre that occurred on October 9th, 2011, in which dozens of Coptic Christians were killed.
