Equatorial Guinea side Cano Sport will face Egyptian giants and record eight-time winners Ahly in the African Champions League second round after overcoming Ethiopia s Mekelle in the preliminary stage.
Cano Sport held Mekelle to a 1-1 away draw in the second leg on Sunday to go through with a 3-2 aggregate win.
They will host Ahly in the first leg mid-September while the return leg will take place in Egypt two weeks later.
Ahly reached the second round after thumping Atlabara of South Soudan 13-0 on aggregate (4-0 and 9-0).
Established in 2014, Cano Sport won the Equatorial Guinean league last season.
Meanwhile, Senegalese side Generation foot will face Ahly s Cairo rivals Zamalek in the same round after overcoming LPRC Oilers of Liberia 3-1 on aggregate in the preliminary round.
Zamalek went through with an emphatic 13-0 aggregate win, crushing Somalia s Dekadaha 7-0 in the first leg and 6-0 in the second.
