Pyramids FC reached the Confederation Cup group stage after claiming a 3-0 win over Young Africans of Tanzania in the second leg of the competition s play-off at the Air Defence Stadium in Cairo on Sunday.
The Egyptian side, who won the first-leg 2-1 in Dar es Salaam two weeks ago, went through with a 5-1 aggregate win.
Burkinabe midfielder Eric Traore opened the scoring in the 27th minute, slotting home on the rebound after Abdallah El-Said s free kick was parried by the keeper into his path.
Forward Mohamed Farouk doubled the lead ten minutes from time after stabbing home a corner from El-Said, who turned scorer deep in stoppage time to crown his superb display and complete the rout.
The draw for the group stage of Africa s secondary club competition will be held on 10 November.
