Egyptian Football Association reduce Kahraba and Ashours sanctions to ten matches

The Egyptian Football Association’s (EFA) appeal committee decided on Thursday to reduce the sanctions imposed on Ahly winger Mahmoud “Kahraba” Abdel-Moneim and his Zamalek counterpart Emam Ashour, after hearing their appeals.

The two players were suspended by the EFA until the end of this season after their behaviour during the Egyptian Super Cup in the UAE last month, but the appeals committee reduced the sanctions for both to ten-match bans.

Players from both sides clashed on the pitch after the Egyptian Super Cup game, which Zamalek won 4-3 on penalties.

The appeals committee also accepted the appeal of Zamalek’s administrative director Ahmed Zaher and reduced his season suspension to ten matches.

By contrast, the committee rejected the appeal of Zamalek winger Mahmoud “Shikabala” Abdel-Razek, who had been hit with an eight-game suspension.
