The last 8 defendants in Karm village sectarian incidents were released today on 10.000 LE bail. The defendants were accused of stripping an old Coptic woman off and setting several Coptic houses on fire.
Saad Fadl, Coptic man from Karm village, said that a number of Copts from the village were accused of burning two houses of the Muslims though they were interviewed on air at the same time.
After many pressures by police and fanatics, Copts of Ameriyah village agreed to wavier their rights and withdraw the lawsuits and reconcile with the perpetrators.

Police returned the kidnapped Coptic child Paula Ramez, 8 years old, who was kidnapped one week ago. The kidnapper demanded 150.000 LE ransom, but police investigated the matter and arrested the kidnappers and the child was returned home.
National Council for Human Rights met with the Copts of Baida village, Amiriyah, who were attacked in the recent sectarian incidents in order to listen to them and write a report about the attacks. Mouse Makanoty, Coptic man from Baida village, that witnessed the recent attack against the Copts said that militants attacked our houses after rumors about turning a house into a church. He added that police arrested several Copts and let the militants enter their houses and destroy them.
Dr. Emad Gad, Coptic member of the Parliament said that the unified law of building houses of worship was referred to the specialized committees of the Parliament and will be discussed in two weeks
Police gave Copts in Amiriyah the option to reconcile with assailants who attacked them and destroyed their homes or go to prison.
