Spokesman of the Coptic Orthodox Church said that the fire erupted at the church of St. Mary in Ain Shams resulted in no deaths. He added that the fire was caused by electricity and was controlled by fire department.

Abba Estifanus, Bishop of Beba and Fashin, ordained two new priests at the church of St. George in Beba. The new priests are Father Begol Makram, and Father Potros Maher. A number of deacons were also ordained at the rank of Ebsaltus and Oghnostus.

Abba Becenty, Bishop of Helwan and Masaara, ordained 50 deacons at the church of St. Philopatir in Maasara. The new deacons were ordained at the basic rank of Ebsaltus, which means chanter.

Egypt and the European Union signed today two agreements for comprehensive growth and job creation to combat the challenges of migration in Egypt, with a total value of €135 million. The agreements were signed by Egypt s Minister of Investment Sahar Nasr and General Director of the Neighborhood Policy and EU Enlargement Christian Danielson. The minister clarified that the funding agreement for the program of EU s facility of comprehensive growth and job creation is worth €75 million. Nasr added that the agreement supporting the program to combat migration challenges in Egypt, worth €60 million, is funded by the European Emergency Fund for Africa, and includes contributions from Germany and the International Planning Organization.

The Board of Directors of the New Urban Communities approved the building of a new church in the city of Sadat. The new church will be built on 2000 square meters and will be following the Coptic Orthodox Church.

Abba Serapion, Archbishop of Los Angeles, visited the Monastery of St. Maurice in Switzerland as part of his pastoral visit to the diocese of southern France and the French sector of Switzerland. He was received by Abba Luke, Bishop of the diocese and a number of the clergy.

His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark See, paid a visit to the shrine of the Metropolitan Bishoy of Damietta and Kafr El-Sheikh and former secretary of the Holy Synod. The late Bishop died at the age of 76 and was buried at a shrine in the Monastery of St. Demiana in Belqas. Pope was not able to attend his funeral since he was in a pastoral care visit to the United States of America.

At the last stop of his current pastoral visit of the United States of America, Pope ordained two priests at the church of St. John in Lexington, California. The new priests are Father Mina for the church of St. George in Lexington, Seattle and promoted Father Angelos for the church of St. George in Kirkland, Seattle to the rank of Hegumin.

Presidnet Abdul Fattah al-Sisi honored Major General Baki Zaki Youssef, the army officer credited with the idea to destroy the Bar Lev line on the Suez Canal s eastern bank during the 1973 Arab Israeli war. Statement revealed that during this visit Pope has inaugurated 14 churches and celebrated 18 holy masses and delivered 41 sermons and lectures. 45 members of the Holy Synod of the Coptic Orthodox Church participated in the funeral prayers of Metropolitan Bishoy of Kafr El-Sheikh and Damietta and the head of St. Demiana Monastery, which was held at the monastery of St. Demiana in Belqas. His Holiness also inaugurated the icons of the Church and the Pantocrator (the bosom of the Father). It is worth mentioning that this is the first time that His Holiness has inaugurated an altar on the name of Saint Habib Gerges in the Diaspora after he the founder of Sunday schools was acknowledged a saint by the Coptic church in 2013.

During his pastoral care visit to the United States of America, Pope Tawadros II laid the foundation stone of the new Papal Headquarters in Cedar Grove. Pope explained that they put a wooden box contains the holy bible, picture of the saint and newspaper to show the upcoming generations about the current events. He added that the project is huge and the congregation has to take it seriously to complete it in the best way.

In his meeting with Copts of New Jersey, Poe Tawadros II said that Egyptian president Abdul Fattah al-Sisi and the government are excreting great effort for development. He added that the new projects need time to complete and bring its fruits.
