His Holiness Pope Twadros II said during a meeting with the people of the Church of the Archangel Michael and St. Martina in Staten Island, New York, that the incident of the killing of Bishop Epiphanius, head of St. Makkar monastery in Wadil Natroun is an accident. He added that police investigated 400 workers and a huge number of monks and the defendants is a former monk who has been investigated by a committee of the Holy Synod. The other defendant monk was not investigated for medical reasons since he is not able to talk, Pope added. Pope explained that he is currently the one in charge of the monastery.

Police in Mansoura city, northern Cairo, is currently investigating the plantation of a homemade bomb under a car in the city. Police were reported about the explosion of a bomb under a car in Toril neighborhood. The explosive device was planted under a Mercedes in the street did not result in any injuries or loss of life.

He added only 212 churches and a building were legalized, since the law was passed adn about 2500 churches are still waiting.

After inaugrating thechuch of St. Mary in Aleppo , Syria, Mar Ignatius Joseph III Jonan, Patriarch of Syriac Catholics, celebrated the first holy mass. 6 deadons were ordianed in the celebration of the church, which was attended by Archbishop Mario Zinari, Archbishop of Aleppo, Archbishop Mar Desnosius, Archbishop of Hasakah, Archbishop Yacoub Bahanan, Archbishop of Baghdad, Patriarchal Vicar for Basra and the Arabian Gulf.

Spokesman of the Coptic Orthodox Church said that Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark See is going to visit the United States of America for the third time. The pastoral care visit will be held in a couple of weeks.

He added that some companies are working on developing a mobile application similar to UBER to make Auto rickshaw valid on demand.

Pope Tawadros II said the murder of Abba Epiphanius, head of St. Makar monastery was an accident that can t spoil the monastic life that has started many centuries ago. This came during the 40 days memorial service of Abba Epiphanius headed by Pope Tawadros and attended by several bishops of the Coptic Church.

The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) announced on Wednesday that Egypt s foreign currency reserves rose to US $44.41 billion in August, compared to $44.31 billion in July. Egypt s foreign exchange reserves were around $36 billion before the January 25 Revolution of 2011. It fell down to nearly $19 billion until a $12 billion loan was signed with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in November 2016. The flotation of the Egyptian pound and high interest rates helped attract foreign investments for government debt instruments, which reached about $23 billion at the end of March.

Dozens of worshippers were buried alive under the rubble of a Catholic Church that collapsed during celebrating the holy mass on Sunday. St. Paul Catholic church that collapsed is located in the southwestern state of Delta in Nigeria.

The Coptic Orthodox Church will hold the mass of the 40th day anniversary of the departure of Abba Epiphanius, head of St. Makar monastery. Pope Tawadros presides over the memorial service on September 8th and will open a new conference building carrying the name of the late bishop.

Prosecution of Minya ordered that 19 defendants at the sectarian attacks of Demshaw Hashim village will be imprisoned for 4 days pending investigations. They were accused of inciting violence and attacking other people for building an unlicensed church.

Iman Maher Said, 19 year old, has disappeared in Assiut. Her family mentioned that she left home to visit the church on Friday and never returned back. Police were reported and the matter is currently under investigation.

His Holiness Pope Tawadros II opened first gathering of young Copts from all over the world at the Papal headquarters in Wadil Natroun. The gathering was entitled Joy which is the appreciation of Jesus Copts of Egypt.
