Free Egyptians Party issued a statement to condemn the savage attack on Copts of Damshaw Hashim village by fanatics who aim to incite sectarian strife. Statement said that the criminals and terrorists who attacked innocent and peaceful people should be punished according to the law.

Minya prosecution extended the imprisonment of 19 defendants pending investigations of the attack on Copts of Demshaw Hashim village in Minya. The defendants are charged with inciting violence and attacking people refusing to allow them to hold prayers.

Wael Saad, the disgraced monk of St. Makar monastery assured to his brother and his lawyer that he did not kill the bishop and his confessions to police came under pressures during the investigation. He added that he was outside the monastery at the time of the murder of the bishop. He added that he tried to commit suicide due to the pressures that were put on him during the investigation.

The Committee of the affairs of monasteries and monasticism in the Holy Synod under the supervision of His Holiness Pope Twadros II decided today to transfer 6 monks of the Monastery of Abu Makar in Wadil Natroun to other Coptic monasteries. The new monks declared their obedience to the decision.

Police in Minya arrested 3 defendants in Ezbet Sultan Pasha village on charges of inciting violence. Police promised to take all measures to prevent any sectarian attacks. Extremists have demonstrated to show their rejection to a church building in their village.

Esna prosecution in Luxor province ordered the detention of 20 defendants, including 5 Copts, for 15 days pending the investigation of Zenika village sectarian attacks. The Copts were accused of praying in unlicensed building, gathering, disturbing the public peace and provoking sedition.

Attorney general of the appeals of Alexandria referred Wael Saad Tawadros, and monk Faltawes to Criminal Court on charges of the murder of Bishop Epiphanius, head of St. Makar monastery. The defrocked monk Isaiah confessed to the murder of the bishop with the help of monk Faltaws who encouraged him and secured the way to commit his crime. Wael Saad also confessed he used a metal piece to hit the bishop thrice on his head causing his death.

Egypt s Public Prosecution decided on Thursday to renew the detention of monk Feltous of St. Makar monastery for 15 days The monk is accused of taking part in the murder of Abba Epiphanius, Bishop of the monastery of St. Makar in Wadil Natroun. Disgraced monk Isaiah had confessed to the murder of the bishop before monk Feltous attempt to commit suicide fearing that the crime will be discovered according to police investigations.

Defrocked monk Isaiah of St. Makar monastery, whose name is Wael Saad, was officially accused of murdering head of his monastery Bishop Epiphanius. Wael has explained in detail how did he commit his crime using a metal stick and showed police where did he hide the murder weapon.

Abba Antonius, Archibishop of Jerusalem, attends the funeral of his father Hegumin Timusaus Sharmoukh, deputy of Abu Tig diocese. The late priest served as minister and priest for years and was ordained a priest in 1968 and was promoted to the rank of Hegumin on March 13, 1983.

Dr. Andri Zaki, President of the Evangelical Community in Egypt, sent a letter of condolences to Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark See, in the death of Bishop Ebiphanius, head of St. Makar monastery in Wadi al-Natroun. Statement described the late bishop as great scholar and prayed for condolences for the Coptic people.

St. Makar Monastery announced to hold funeral of bishop Epiphanius, Bishop of the monastery on Tuesday at the monastery in Wadil Natroun. In a statement, the monastery announced that the funeral will be aired on Coptic television channels and only members of the Holy Synod, the monks and priests, members of the Milli Council, the Coptic Awqaf Authority and the family of the late bishop.

Police are currently investigating the murder of Abba Epiphanies, head of St. Makkar monastery, who was attacked in his way to attend the midnight praise. Police suggested that he was attacked with a white weapon from the back.

The monastery of St. Shenouda in Sohag (the White Monastery) celebrates the feast of its intercession on July 29th. The celebration has started on July 12th with the participation of thousands of Copts. Shenoute the Great, Saint Shenoute the Archimandrite was the abbot of the White Monastery in Egypt. He is considered a saint by the Oriental Orthodox Churches, and is one of the most renowned saints of the Coptic Orthodox Church.

Pope Twadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark See, opens the new papal headquarters in South America next September. Pope is going to visit a number of American states in a pastoral care visit next month. The new headquarters is located in New Jersey and will include a church, a papal residence, an administrative building and a large parking lot.

Copts in Obour city expressed their happiness at the finished building of their new church. The church of the virgin and St. Takla was licensed last year and the building was finished to be inaugurated soon.

After they suffered for years to rebuild a new church, Copts celebrated the first holy mass at the new church of St. Mary and St. Abanoub in Koum Loufy. Copts expressed their happiness to pray in the new church though it is not finished yet. The village had witnessed sectarian incidents during which several Coptic houses were set on fire in order to prevent building the church.

City council of Tahta, Suhag, has prevented building a licensed church In Nag Shenouda Rizk. The city council refused to issue a demolition license of the old houses. In 1965, a Coptic man has donated a piece of land to build a mosque in the village in order to allow the Copts to build a church, but the extremists refused to allow Christians to build that church ever since leaving no option before the Copts but to pray in their homes.

An Egyptian woman called Youliana Azer was nominated for Mississauga Local Council elections in Canada scheduled for October 22, 2018. It is noteworthy that the Egyptians in Canada have achieved political successes after the Egyptian Professor Sherif Sabawi became the first Egyptian who wins parliamentary elections in Canada.

The Coptic Orthodox Church of Minya issued a statement to comment on the recent attacks on the Copts of Ezbet Sultan Basha last Friday. Statement denounced that fanatics have refused to allow the Copts to pray and the government is willing to obey such unfair demands.

Father Makarios Anthon, priest of the Church of Prince Tadros in Minbal village, Minya, held a meeting with leaders of the Muslim families to discuss the development of the situation in the village. On the other hand, he thanked police for arresting dozens of assailants according to the law and not using the policy of making balance by arresting a number of Christians in return.
