This came after they concluded the ‘Serve and be Joyful’ conference during which they served a number of villages, elderly and orphans. 150 young men and women, most of whom participated last year in the First World Week of Coptic Orthodox Church Youth from all over the world, participated in the conference.

More than 10 thousands participants of different ages attended ‘In His Image’ festival in Tima diocese. Bishop Ishaq of Tima led the celebrations organized by the Bible House. The festival started last Thursday and lasted for three consecutive days.

Two Ethiopians and Eritreans in Egypt celebrated the feast of St. Takla Haymanot in his church in Zagazig. Thousands of the Coptic people participated in the celebrations and praises led by HG Bishop Timothyus of Zagazig.

Dr. Mohamed Othman El-Khesht, President of Cairo University, congratulated the Copts on the feast of the Virgin Mary calling it a feast for all Egyptians. On his official page on Facebook, he added that the Egyptian have one nation and they need to protect it by all means.

Minya Diocese mourned Youssef Ebid, a 4 year old child who was killed while traveling to attend church at the nearest village. The child was hit by a tractor while he was waiting for a but to take him with his friends to the church since his village is deprived from churches. It is worth mentioning that 50 villages in Minya diocese don t have churches and the Copts in them have to travel to the nearest church, which causes similar accidents every now and then.

Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark See, ordained Tamav Basilia as head of the monastery of the Virgin Mary in Haret Zewaila. The ordination ceremony was attended by Bishops Tomas, Daniel, Raphael, Danial, Thodosious, and Markos.

His Holiness Pope Tawadros II ordained 24 new nuns at the monastery of Prince Tadros in old Cairo. The ordination ceremony was attended by Bishop Daniel of Maadi, Bishop Rafael the General Bishop of the Churches of downtown Cairo, St. Julius the General Bishop of the Churches of Old Cairo, and St. Marcus Bishop of Damietta and Kafr El-Sheikh.

During his meeting with ministers of Alexandria, Pope Tawadros II denied the existence of divisions in the HolySynod. Pope added that there are many ideas and discussions, but there is no divisions since each member is responsible and completely reliable.

7 New nuns were ordained today at the Monastery of St. George in Old Cairo. The ordination ceremony was headed by Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark See.

St. Mary monastery in Dronka, Assiut, celebrated the fasting of the Virgin and started its annual celebration on that occasion. Hundreds of thousands of the Coptic people are visiting the monastery to attend the celebrations that will end on August 21.

Egypts Ministry of Interiors issued a statement to assure that an explosives-laden vehicle driven against traffic on a major road in Cairo plowed into oncoming cars. Statement added that that car was stoled couple of month ago and was moving explosives to be used in a terrorist attack planned by a terrorist cell of Hasm movement of the Muslim Brotherhood terrorist group. The collision caused a massive fireball which shattered the windows and facade of Egypts National Cancer Institute and killed at least 20 people.

Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patirarch of St. Mark See, visited the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Dr. Ahemd al-Tayeb to congratulate him on Eid al-Adha. The Coptic delegation included a number of members of the Holy Synod.

The Egyptian Ministry of Emigration is launching a campaign to encourage Egyptians abroad to visit Egypt aiming to improve the tourism industry. The participants share a 2 minutes video about Egypt and concludes it with the slogan of the campaign No_Place_Like_Home. The campaign was launched last month during the visit of Minister Nabila Makram to Canada.

Coptic Museum in Cairo organizes a celebration about friendship on Friend Day on August 3rd. Jihan Atef, head of the museum said that the celebration targets a group of the primary school students, and will teach them about museums and art workshops.
