After British Prime Minister Boris Johnson had wished Muslims in the UK and worldwide Eid Mubarak on the eve of the Islamic holiday, he said that British Muslims are helping to make this country the success it is today. In a message marking Eid al-Adha, the prime minister called on people to celebrate the contribution made by the UK s estimated 3.3 million Muslims. “The story of Eid al-Adha is one of sacrifice, about doing your duty and doing what s right,” Mr Johnson said in a statement.

Nigerian media talked about hundreds of priests of Enugu Catholic Diocese on Friday protested against the murder of Reverend Father Paul Offu. Offu, the Parish Priest of St. James Greater Catholic Church, was allegedly shot dead on Thursday night by suspected Fulani herdsmen along Ihe-Agbudu Road in the Awgu Local Government Area of the state. The angry Catholic priests, who marched to the Government House demanding the government to stop violence in the country and save the Christians.

Dr. Khaled Montaser, Egyptian writer, denounced the increasing power of Islamists in the German society and said they will infiltrate it in few years. This came during his comment on the fatwa of the Islamic Center in Munich that a man can hit his wife in order to discipline her. He added that Islamists are now fighting human rights that protect them in the West and that they are far from integration in the society.

Youssef Talaat, legal representative of the Evangelical Community, said that the state committee for the legalization of unlicensed churches has approved the legalization of 88 churches and a subsidiary building. He added that the number included 28 Evangelical Churches.

Egyptian court issued a decision to ban demolition or selling of churches. This ruling gives churches the same inviolability of mosques. It is worth mentioning that such ruling comes against a former judge who claimed he bought a church from the Roman Church though this church was donated to the Coptic Orthodox Church and this former judge decided to demolish it if he doesn’t receive a huge amount of money.

Coptic Orthodox Churches celebrated the feast of St. Joseph the Carpenter last Friday. St. Joseph was the foster father of Jesus Christ and took care of the Holy Family even before Jesus was born.

Coptic Orthodox Church is going to start the fasting of the Virgin Mary next Wednesday for two weeks. Many churches and monasteries hold spiritual renaissance meetings lie St. Mary monastery in Assiut that receives roughly two million visitors. The fasting will end on August 22 on the day of ascension of her body to heaven.

Muslim Council of Britain issued a statement in which it said that vaccines contain gelatin derived from pigs are prohibited by Islamic law. For their part, many parents refused to give such vaccine to their children and demanded the government to find another halal vaccine.

Bishop Paula of Tanta presided over the ecumenical meeting of the Middle East churches in Egypt. The meeting discussed the collective work and the unity of working for the church.
