Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark See, received today Sister Katrina and Sister Elizabeth from the monastery of St. Demiana in Belqas before they travel to Australia to work on reviving the monastery of the Virgin and St. Verena in Australia. They discussed the challenges before them and their role in reviving the monastic life at the monastery.

Bishop Moussa of the Youth opened today the seventh session of the Coptic Book Exhibition. The exhibition is held at St. Athanasius the Apostolic Hall in the Cathedral of Abbasia, and will be held untill November 22 with the participation of 40 publishing houses specialized in Christian books.

Coptic Diocese of Paris and Northern France announced the ordination of a new priest next Thursday at the Church of the Virgin and Angel Rafael. Bishop Mark of the diocese will preside over the ordination ceremony of deacon Michel Wakim, who will serve as a general priest at the parish of Paris and northern France.

The diocese of Minya of the Coptic Orthodox Church launched the fifth scientific conference entitled Coptic Heritage through the Ages 2, in cooperation with the Association of the Key to Life. The conference was headed by Bishop Makarios of Minya and with the participation of 20 Coptic scholars from Alexandria, Beheira, Qalyubia, Cairo, Beni Suef, Minya, Assiut and Sohag.

Abba Rafael, Bishop of the Churches of Downtown Cairo, headed today the Holy Mass and the general meeting of the Church of Saint Mark in Sydney as part of his pastoral visit to the country. His Eminence will also preside over the general meeting and the youth meeting at the Cathedral of St. Mary and St. Mina. He is scheduled to visit Melbourne on November 2nd.

His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark See, met on Wednesday morning at the Pontifical residence in St. Mark See, with the monk Besenty of St. Bishoy monastery, the priest of the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul in Qatar. During the meeting, the monk offered a report to the Pope about the ministry and services in the church. The meeting was attended by HG Bishop Julius the General Bishop of the Churches of Old Cairo and the Supervisor of the Churches of the Gulf.

Abba Raphael, Bishop General of the churches of downtown Cairo, arrived at Sydney International Airport to start his pastoral care visit to Australia. He met with ministers of the diocese in the presence of Bishop Daniel of the Sydney. Bishop Raphael will celebrate the holy mass at the Church of Abu Seifin, and will meet the congregation of the church as well as the Church of the Archangel Michael and St. Bishoy in Sydney.

Bishop Ghobrial of Beni Suef ordained dozens of deacons in Kafr Jaziret Nasser during his pastoral care visit. The new deacons were ordained at the rank of Oghnostos, which is translated reader of the holy books.

Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark See returned to Cairo from Austria, after a pastoral care visit to Europe which started on October 9. The pope visited a number of dioceses in France, Switzerland, Belgium and Austria, during which he met with the Egyptian ambassadors in the four countries as well as high-ranking officials including the French President Emmanuel Macron. He also visited the European Parliament.

3000 Cops have attended the annual conference of Minya diocese held at St. Mina Conference House. The conference was held on October 25 to 26 under the title My house and I will worship the Lord. Bishop Karas of al-Mahalla al-Kubra churches delivered a speech in the conference and a special program was prepared of the children.

Samalout diocese celebrated the graduation of the first batch of the Institute of Church Care and Education. The institute was opened by Bishop Pfnotious of the diocese two years ago and offers various specialties including: church care - family counseling - spiritual guidance - church life - Bible - psychological counseling - and human resources.

Qasim Husein, governor of Minya, said that Tal Amarna tourist site in Minya has received delegations from Germany, France and Brazil. The governor explained that many tourists from Europe, Africa, Asia and America have been recently arriving in Minya governorate to visit its historical landmarks, especially the path of the Holy Family sites.

Bishop Raphael of churches of downtown Cairo and former secretary of the Holy Synod celebrated the Holy Mass at St. Mark s Cathedral in Kuwait. Many people of the Coptic congregation of Kuwait have welcomed the bishop. It is worth mentioning that the Coptic Orthodox Cathedral of St. Mark in Kuwait was founded in 1959 by His Holiness Pope Cyril VI.

The Catholic Churches of St. George, and the Virgin Mary and Pope John Paul II in the village of Al-Aziya, Manfalut, Assiut, received the holy remains of St. Teresa. The congregations of the churches were blessed by the remains, which arrived to Egypt from France.

Sources in the church said that the Main Committee for legalization of churches is getting ready to approve the legalization of new churches and service buildings in various governorates. This last legalized batch included 64 churches, which raised the total number of legalized churches in Egypt to 1171 churches and service buildings.
