Bishop Bemwa of Suez inaugurated the holy vessels of the altar and the baptism in the Church of the Archangel Michael in Suez. This came during celebrating the holy mass with the participation of thousands of the congregation.

The Church of St. George in Suez received amid a festive atmosphere the relics of St. Simeon of Akhmim. The celebration was headed by HG Bishop Bemoa of Suez and a number of clergy and with participation of the clergy. The martyr was born in the third century and was ordained a monk before he was tortured and martyred for his Christian faith.

Bishop Bemwa of Suez participated in the ordination ceremony of 2 new monks at the monastery of St. Mina in Jabal Abnoub, Assiut, with Bishop Lucas of Abnounb, and Bishop Arsanius of New Valley. Monks Raphael and Ghobrial were ordained at the monastery.

Suez diocese celebrated the 5th anniversary of the ordination of Bishop Bimwa of Suez. The celebration entitled Bishop Bimwa, cause of joyous hearts, and was attended by hundreds of the congregation and clergy of the diocese.

HG Bishop Bemwa of Suez ordained today two new priests for the ministry in the diocese. The ordination ceremony was attended by Bishops Tadros of Port Said and Seraphim of Ismailia. The Church of St. Antony in Suez organized a prayer meeting for the sick headed by Father Mina Ibrahim, priest of the church. The prayers were raised by the people for all the sick including Father Miroun Tawaros, priest of the church, who is suffering from server illness.

The Center of Specialized Courses at the Church of St. George in Suez organized a course entitled Biout Farhana or Happy Homes to prepare for marriage. The course talks about basics of marriage and understanding the other partner in marriage.

Abba Pemwa, Bishop of Suez, ordained 44 new deacons at the church of Archangel Michael in Suez. He promoted 6 deacons to the rank of Oghnostus. He also promoted Mr. Nabil Nasseh to the rank of full deacon and was called Youhanna.

Father Antonius Milad, deputy of Suez diocese, praised the efforts exerted by Egyptian police and army to secure the presidential elections. He called all Egyptians to participate in the elections considering it a national duty that enables the homeland to defeat its enemies and achieve a better future for our children.

Abba Seraphim, Bishop of Ismailia, perfumed the remains of St. Philopatir Markorious, known as Abi Seifin. In the feast of the miraculous saint, the worshippers gathered in the church of St. Philopatir in Ismailia. Bishop Serafim delivered a sermon about the holy ways that leads to heaven including loving the poor, thankfully accepting afflictions and forgiveness

Abba Karas, Bishop of Mahalla, celebrated the feast of St George at his church in Sabah city in Suez where he delivered sermon about how to return to God. The celebration was attended by Abba Pemwa, Bishop of Suez, and congregation of the church.

Copts in Suez celebrated the feast of building the first church on the name of St. George in the presence of HG Abba Arsani, Bishop of the Netherlands, HG Abba Marcos, Bishop of Hadaeq El Kubba, and HG Abba Bemwa, Bishop of Suez. The congregation and clergy were very happy to attend the celebration where Abba Arsani delivered a sermon entitled "God is wondrous".

Coptic churches and monasteries in Egypt celebrated the holy feast of the Cross called in other churches “The Exaltation of the Holy Cross”. The Cross of Jesus Christ was discovered in 326 by Saint Helena, the mother of the Roman Emperor Constantine the Great, during a pilgrimage she made to Jerusalem. The Church of the Holy Sepulchre was then built at the site of the discovery, by order of Helena and Constantine. The church was dedicated nine years later, with a portion of the cross placed inside it. The date of the feast marks the dedication of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in 335.

Police in Egypt has taken extra security measures to secure churches during the fasting of the holy virgin Mary. The fasting of St. Mary lasts for two weeks and is considered an important spiritual occasion for the Copts.
