His Holiness Pope Tawadros II met today with a group of bishops to discuss some of the ideas put forward regarding the cooperation between Coptic media and how they can be coordinated in the form of a council or body to work together. The meeting was attended by His Eminence Bishop Paula of Tanta, Bishop Daniel of Maadi and Secretary of the Holy Synod, Abba Julius, General Bishop of the Churches of Old Cairo, and Reverend Poulos Halim, spokesperson for the Coptic Church.

Coptic Church celebrated on Friday the departure anniversary of Archdeacon Habib Girgis who was recognized as saint in the church. Archdeacon Habib Girgis was born in 1876 and died in 21 August 1951. He was a modern-day dean of the Catechetical School of Alexandria. He was the very first student for the modern-day Theological School, and was thus appointed to succeed his predecessor, Youssef Bey Mankarious, in the year 1918, as the second dean of the renewed center of theology.

A high-ranking delegation from the Russian embassy visited the Coptic Studies Institute at St. Mark s Cathedral in Abbasia. The monk was ordained on August 25, 1989, and served in several places including the New Valley. The meeting discussed problems and challenges of the Coptic media and how to improve their work for the service of the people.

Bishop Pavlos of Greece for the Coptic Orthodox Churches, announced in a statement regarding the reopening of churches that the Coptic Church in Greece in the region of Mounidhi will be opened while maintaining all preventive measures. He added that the congregation will have to book with the church and follow the precautionary measures during attending the mass including wearing the mask except for children under 6 years.

The Coptic Orthodox Church celebrated today the commemoration of the martyrdom of St. Laundius. The saint was a Christian soldier who used to sermonize his colleagues and preach them, but the commander punished him for this and tortured him in the prison till he died.
