A number of Coptic activists have launched a campaign on Facebook and Twitter to demand the U.S. Congress to do something in order to stop persecuting the Copts in Egypt.

In his weekly sermon, Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark See, said that the recent attacks against the Christians have been so sad and painful for the church as well as the congregation.

Council of Egyptian Churches expressed deep sorrow for the bloody attacks against the Copts in Khosous that caused many deaths and injuries, as well as the bloody attack against the great Cathedral in Abbassya, which is an important Christian symbol in the Middle East and all over the world.

Abba Pachomius, Bishop of Behira and former acting Patriarch, said that the great Cathedral of St. Mark is attacked for the first time in history.

Abba Rafael, General Secretary of the Holy Synod, said that the Coptic Church has lost 8 of its children in the bloody attacks against the Coptic Christians in Khosous.

Many thugs, headed by Ahmed Nagar and supported by a Salafist Sheikh, have been attacking the Coptic Christians in Hadra, Alexandria, after a Christian man was accused of “having a romantic relationship with a Muslim lady”.

Father Paula, priest of St. Paul church in Shubra al-Khaimah, told Copts United that 4 masked men have kidnapped thirteen year old Abanoub Ashraf, in front of the church during the Sunday Mass under gun threat.

Coptic Christians in Hadra, Alexandria, are being attacked and forced to leave the neighborhood on account of a romantic relationship between a Christian young man and a Muslim lady.

Christian Churches in Egypt have participated in a collective prayer in Wadi Natroun for the Copts detained in Libya on charges of preaching Christianity.
