We have reached the day that all people were waiting for the last few days: June 30th. This day is the day Tamarod set for Morsi’s “step down” through demonstrations all over Egypt. The question now is: will today be the end of the Muslim Brotherhood, and the beginning of the Opposition’s power? Or, is this the day the Muslim Brotherhood will dominate over the country?
The first possibility will lead Egypt back to its nature. It will also mean that the people who led the revolution back in 2011 on January 25th will be the authoritative power. At this time we can say that the January 25th revolution achieved one of its main objectives: youth governing Egypt. This objective will be followed by many more achievements such as ending corruption in the Government, and improving the economy, putting an end to slums.
The second possibility will lead Egypt into a disaster. The Muslim Brotherhood will lead us into a religious state. “Morshid” will govern us. They will change the nature of Egypt. They will kill the spirit of creation. Because you see, when you mix religion with politics, both will become ruined in and of itself.
Today is a unique day for Egyptians, and for Egypt. After all the propaganda we have seen lately, we have to get our feet off the ground. This is the only way to prove that the signatures that Tamarod gathered were true, and not a lie, as the Muslim Brotherhood were accusing them of.
What if the Opposition failed to let Morsi to step down? I believe that we shouldn’t give up, this should be the first step for us to continue, continue working on the ground, with people on the streets, going to their homes, warning them of the risks and dangers of the Muslim Brotherhood. How can we allow the Muslim Brotherhood change the country? How can we allow them to threaten the future of our children? Threaten our culture? Threaten our way of life that we’ve become accustomed to?
We are not Pakistan, we are not Afghanistan, nor are we Saudi Arabia. Egypt is a huge country with thousands of years of civilization that none of the previously mentioned countries have. It is time for Egyptians to take back their country from these amateurs masking themselves as “Political Parties” when really they are religious extremists.
All Egyptians should have hope for today, not only today, but for tomorrow as well and the days to come. We made the revolution to get our country back from corrupted people, not to give it back to corruption. We are depending on this dream, and will continue to dream until our dreams become a reality.
