Prominent media figure Doria Sharaf al-Din said on Sunday she was proud and happy to be the first female candidate from the state radio and television to hold the post of Information Minister.
"Holding office is not an easy task, given the timing which is also difficult," she said adding, "a lot is expected from this cabinet, even though it is an interim one."
Sharaf al-Din held several positions, including being the Director of Egypt's Censorship Office, the Head of the Satellite Channels Sector and Deputy to the Minister of Information. She also authored two books entitled, “Politics and Cinema in the fifties” and “Politics and Cinema in Egypt”.
