Muslim Brotherhood spokesperson Gehad al-Haddad has said that the Islamist group is willing to negotiate a way out of Egypt's crisis, on certain conditions.
“This means legitimacy must return first,” Haddad said.
After international mediation efforts failed, Al-Azhar - Egypt's highest authority in Sunni Islam - announced last week that it would work on holding talks to discuss the crisis.
But Haddad said the Brotherhood would oppose any initiative by Al-Azhar Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayyeb after he endorsed the army's overthrow of Mohamed Morsy.
