Egypt extends Mursi’s detention for 30 days

Egyptian judicial authorities have extended ousted President Mohammed Mursi’s detention period for 30 days, Reuters reported the state news agency as saying on Thursday.

Mursi, who was overthrown by the army on July 3, is being held at an undisclosed location on allegations of murder and spying.
 
Meanwhile, Egyptian authorities referred 84 people from the city of Suez, including Muslim Brotherhood members and supporters, to military prosecutors on Thursday. They were charged with murder and burning churches, the state news agency added.
 
At least 525 people were killed in Egypt on Wednesday, including 202 protesters in Rabaa al-Adawiya Square in Cairo, a health ministry official told AFP.
 
The senior health ministry official Khaled al-Khatib told AFP that 43 policemen had also been killed
