Salafi-oriented Nour Party officially announced that it would take part in the 50-member committee amending the constitution.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Makhyoun said that the party has decided to participate in the committee "out of a feeling of responsibility and due to the critical nature of the stage through which the country is going, to defend the gains of the Egyptian people after the 25 January revolution, and to have the honor to safeguard those gains, the most important of which are the articles on the identity."
