Egypt's Rebel movement has announced its intention to participate in the upcoming parliamentary elections, said member Mohamed Heikal at a press conference on Tuesday.
Heikal explained the decision is part of the movement's support for the new roadmap, which stipulates parliamentary elections will follow the amending of the 2012 constitution.
Rebel members Mahmoud Badr and Mohamed Abdel-Aziz are already participating in drafting constitutional amendments as part of the 50-member committee assigned with the task.
The 50-member committee is to finalise its first draft of the amendments before Eid El-Fitr on 14 October.
The movement also announced that it will form a committee to supervise the elections, headed by its members Hassan Shaheen, Mohamed Nabawy, Mohamed Heikal, Sarah Arafat, Khaled El-Qady and Sherif Helal.
