Mursi supporters call for Friday protests

The National Alliance to Support Legitimacy, that groups supporters of ousted President Mohamed Mursi, has called for demonstrations this Friday.

The protesters will rally in Roxy Square in Helipolis , at Maadi’s Corniche and by the train station in Giza.

The alliance said in a statement on Thursday that more than 100 days have passed since the “bloody coup”, adding that since then the state has oppressed pro-Mursi protests and violated freedoms and human rights.

It also accused the state of threatening national security and leading Egypt into a dark tunnel amid "shady constitutional amendments and economic and social deterioration."

It added that the army will continue to oust whatever future president it does not approve of if the people were not to stand against what it did.

Egypt’s army ousted Mursi in July following mass demonstrations calling for his resignation.

Since then, Mursi’s supporters have been protesting to demand his reinstatement.
