Egypt reopens Salloum crossing after return of abducted drivers

Egypt has reopened the Salloum border crossing on Monday to individuals and Egyptian trucks after its closure on Saturday following the detention of 95 Egyptian drivers by armed men in Ajdabiya.

An official source at the crossing said in statements to the press on Monday that movement between Egypt and Libya will return to normal after a two-day suspension.

Egyptian authorities had decided to close the Salloum crossing in the face of Egyptian travelers and trucks wishing to cross to Libya, only allowing non-Egyptians movement in both directions and also allowing Egyptians coming from libya into Egypt.
