CAIRO: Ousted president Mohamed Morsi’s defense team leader Mohamed Selim al-Awa said on Monday that Cairo Appeals Court issued five permits to Morsi’s defense team in order to attend only the first session of the trial.
Awa added during a call to al-Jazeera channel, that Morsi’s defense asked for 50 permits to attend the court and received only five for the first session.
Awa refused to release any information about the defense team’s plan to defend Morsi.
He stated that army and police must do their jobs, securing the trial.
