CAIRO: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned Turkey’s ambassador to Cairo Hussein Awni Botasaly Tuesday regarding statements made by Turkish officials about Egypt, reported Youm7.
The Ministry considered these statements as an unacceptable interference in the internal affairs of Egypt.
Turkish-Egyptian relations took a turn for the worst in early November when Turkish Prime Minster Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said that the sign of Rabaa al-Adaweya is not only a sign of the righteous cause of Egyptians, but also a sign of rejecting injustice, suppression, crackdowns, massacres and coups all over the world.
