Bishop Rafael, Secretary of the Holy Synod, received a number of Coptic activists yesterday to discuss the amendments of the new constitution and their fears of a religious constitution that discriminates between the Egyptian citizens.The activists expressed their fears after the word “civil” was removed from article one of the constitution with the influence of the Salafis and Al-Azhar, in order to avoid describing Egypt as civil country
They demanded Pope Tawadros to intervene and salvage the situation as possible.
