Tamarod demands resignation of Beblawy’s government

CAIRO: Mahmoud Badr, founder of the Tamarod Movement, demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Hazem al-Beblawy’s government in a Tuesday phone-in to “The People Want” TV show on Tahrir satellite channel.

Badr criticized the approach adopted by the government in dealing with the Muslim Brotherhood despite their increasing crimes.

He said the government is attempting to reconcile with the Brotherhood, adding that they should not take such a step with “terrorists.”

Regarding the constitutional amendments, Badr praised the decision taken by the 50-member committee to cancel the 50-percent parliamentary quota allocated for farmers and workers. He stressed that these categories do not benefit from this quota.

Badr also reiterated Tamarod’s calls on Egyptians to not participate in the commemoration of the Mohamed Mahmoud clashes to prevent any attempts to cause chaos in the country.
