CAIRO: Minister of Planning Ashraf El-Araby presented on Wednesday at a government meeting a report about progress made in stimulating the economy, saying that delivery rates witnessed an increase in comparison to previous periods, Youm7 reported.
The minister said the increase would be highlighted the second quarter of the fiscal year, at the end of December.
Araby added that 720 million EGP ($104.5 million) has been paid to contractors and suppliers. Also, 558 million EGP ($81 million) would be paid to contractors of the Egyptian Railway Authority, 142 million EGP ($20 million) for military production, and 300 million EGP ($43 million) to electricity companies in return for maintenance work.
The finance minister presented measurements to provide financial capabilities for a minimum wage system, which will be applied January 1.
The minister of trade and industry reviewed current preparations for Egypt’s participation in the Ninth Ministerial Conference will be held in Bali, Indonesia, in December.
