CAIRO, Dec 7 (Aswat Masriya) An Alexandria court has reduced the punishment of 21 young women, who were sentenced to 11 years in prison last month, to a one-year suspended sentence, Egypt's state television said.
The 21 defendants, who were initially sentenced to 11 years in prison for blocking the Corniche Road and vandalizing property, appealed their verdict on Saturday.
The 7 am movement, which is made up of young women, was formed to support deposed President Mohamed Mursi after his ouster by the army in July.
The defendants were gathered to show support for Mursi during his trial for inciting violence when they were arrested by security forces in September.
