GHARBIA, Egypt: Clashes erupted between 22 Muslim Brotherhood members and security forces at Tanta Court during the former’s trial on Saturday.
During their entry to court, the MB prisoners chanted against the army and the police forces, and security forces clashed with them using batons.
Security forces closed the doors of the court in anticipation of riots from Brotherhood supporters.
The court headed, by Mohamed Ali, began the trial of the defendants, who stand accused of rioting, inciting violence and destruction of public property in Tanta during the June 30 uprising.
