Sources in Homeland Security said that Mohamed al-Zawahri, leader of al-Qaeda, confessed he had received 15 million dollars from Khairat al-Shater, vice-president of the Muslim Brotherhood, to buy weapons for the jihadists just one day before al-Shater had been arrested. This money was delivered to Dr. Ramzy Mowafy, Ben Laden’s doctor.
Al-Zawahri also said during the investigation that the Muslim Brotherhood had used 35 snipers belong to international jihadist organizations in order to defend and secure Rabaa Adawia and Nahda sit-ins.
He added that al-Shater had asked him to order the jihadist organizations to target vital installations and institutions in Egypt and to conduct hostile operations against the army and police.
