CAIRO: Spokesperson of the 50-member committee Mohamed Salmawy said the referendum on the constitution is going to take place on the second week of January, in a statement to Youm7.
The spokesperson said the referendum will be held after the holidays but before the third anniversary of the January 25 Revolution.
Salmawy explained that the constitutional declaration stipulated that the referendum has to be held within a month after a copy of the constitution is delivered to the President.
“The date coincides with holidays. There are the Christmas holidays, New Year, then the Coptic holidays on January 7,” he said.
