ARISH, Egypt: Security forces in North Sinai are on high alert after a failed bombing attempt targeted an armored vehicle early Tuesday morning.
Unknown assailants planted an explosive device on a road in South Arish which exploded after the armored truck had passed, without causing any damage or injuries, according to a security source.
Immediately after the explosion, security forces attempted to search for the perpetrators without any success, the source added.
Patrols intensified in the streets of Arish, Sheikh Zuwayed, Rafah and the areas around state buildings following the botched attack.
