CAIRO: Interim president Adly Mansour declined a proposal to run for the presidency for one term during the National Dialogue session with political and social forces on Dec.25
The suggestion was made by Mohamed Farag, vice-president of the Farmers’ Union, who said Mansour was appointed by people who knew nothing of him due to increased public hostility towards former president Mohamed Morsi. Today the president is listening and responding to all social and political segments, Farag told Youm7.
Farag, who is also a member of the Egyptian Federation for Independent Trade Unions, told Mansour to run for the presidency for one year during which Abdel Fatah al-Sisi would remain the country’s Minister of Defense.
