CAIRO: Muslim Brotherhood supporters sparked protests across Cairo on Monday evening, setting fire to police vehicles in Giza and Maadi and clashing with security forces.
On Ring Road, Brotherhood protesters set fire to a police car and obstructed traffic. Personnel from the fire department and Giza traffic administration appeared to control the situation.
In Maadi, protestors also set fire to a police car after beating the policeman inside.
Meanwhile, protesters set fire to a traffic police booth and a banner that read “yes to constitution” in Mohandiseen.
At Al-Ahzhar University dorms in Nasr City, pro-Brotherhood students blocked Moustafa Nahas Street in a demonstration demanding the release of detained students.
In Ain Shams, security forces dispersed a small demonstration by Muslim Brotherhood supporters Monday evening.
