On the occasion of Eastern Christmas, we commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ who came to earth and incarnated for our salvation.
From the bottom of my heart, I congratulate H.H. Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark See, as well as all the clergy, praying to God that they may stop fighting and start working in peace and spreading love everywhere. This is the commandment of our Lord that they teach us about, but rarely practice.
I also wish a very merry Christmas and a happy new year for all my teachers, friends, brothers, sisters and students. And I send very special greetings for my friends in Upper Egypt.
On this great occasion we shouldn’t forget about the families of the Coptic Christian martyrs that lost mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, daughters and sons who were killed and traveled to heaven to intercede for us before God and pray for speed recovery for the injured.
Here, I also remember the displaced families and the despised Christians in Egypt who lost their properties and churches, hoping that God may compensate them a hundred times as the state will never do.
Many happy returns at the new year for Egypt and all Egyptians. May God grant Egypt peace, prosperity and stability in order to regain her decent place in the world.
