CAIRO: Abdel Moneim Aboul Fotouh’s lawsuit in the Administrative Court against interim President Adly Mansour on the right of citizens to vote outside of their governorates may be turned down, said head of the Independent Current Ahmed Fadaly on Wednesday.
Mansour issued a decree allowing residents to vote in governorates where they were not born. According to election law, residents should vote in governorates they were born in.
Jihadist leader Sabra al-Kasemy criticized Aboul Fotouh’s lawsuit, claiming that Egyptians will vote “yes” in the upcoming referendum scheduled for Jan. 14-15 to put an end to the Muslim Brotherhood’s influence inside and outside Egypt.
Spokesperson of Tagammu Party Nabil Zaky told Youm7 that Egyptians have realized that Aboul Fotouh, who is head of Misr al-Qawia Party, still works in favor of the Brotherhood, noting that the Mansour’s decision aims to facilitate voting for Egyptians in the referendum.
Zaki said citizens realized that Aboul Fotouh is part of the Brotherhood and his party does not have popular support. Zaki said the task of Aboul Fotouh is to save the remnants of the Brotherhood.
