North and South Giza Prosecutions sent on Sunday 53 Muslim Brotherhood supporters to 15 days pending investigations, into the violent events that took place in the areas of Mohandiseen, Imbaba Haram, Talbiya, Omraniya and October on Friday.
Investigations said that the clashes erupted between the pro-MB protests and the residents after they blocked the road chanting anti-military slogans.
Security forces fired tear gas to disperse the clashes, and arrested some of the MB supporters for protesting without permission from authorities.
The clashes left 16 people injured with birdshots.
The defendants face the charges of joining a group that aims to disrupt security and public peace, and possession of firearms and explosives without a license, demonstrating in violation of the protest law, attacking the personal freedom of citizens and the use of force against them, disrupting traffic, attempted murder of officers, recruits and citizens, and resisting authorities .
