A bag located in Zamalek did not contain a bomb, only wires to insinuate that it was an explosive device, said Director of the General Directorate for Civil Protection Gamal Halawa.
A surveillance camera at the Ceramic Islamic Museum near the Marriott Hotel detected a strange object, leading to suspicion that it could contain an explosive device.
Explosives experts headed to the location following the report, inspected the bag, and found that it contained a Freon tube with some wires.
Forces were certain that it was a false report, said Halawa.
