The Sinai-based militant group Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis claimed responsibility Sunday in a statement for the military helicopter that was shot to the ground in North Sinai on Saturday with a surface-to-air missile.
The group also claimed responsibility for targeting the Zuhor army camp with four mortar shells, and targeting El Gorah, Karm al-Qwadis and Abu Tawila areas in Sinai with rocket-propelled grenades.
The group clashed with security forces near El Gora Airport and killed a soldier at a checkpoint.
The group denied responsibility for attacks on the Behouth Metro Station and Talbia police station on Friday, claiming that another group called “Agnad Masr” is the one responsible for the two attacks.
