Ahead of the upcoming presidential elections, it seems that Nour Party will not support Abdel Moneim Aboul Fotouh, the president of Misr al-Qawia party, in case he runs for president, as a source inside the party told Youm7 on Sunday.
The source further said that salafist leader Yasser al-Borhami mentioned during one of his lectures that he believes Aboul Fotouh is “wiser” than to run for president.
In the words of Salafist Call member Sameh Abdel Hamid: “Aboul Fotouh is distracted, his mind is not clearly set on what he really wants, his opinions are random, and there are contradictions in his decisions. What role exactly does his party have?”
The salafis endorsed Aboul Fotouh during the first round of presidential elections in 2012, which brought Muslim Brotherhood figure Mohamed Morsi to power.
